Romans 9:30-33

[30] What shall we say then?—that the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness obtained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith, [31] but Israel even though pursuing a law of righteousness did not attain it. [32] Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but (as if it were possible) by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,

[33] just as it is written, “Look, I am laying in Zion a stone that will cause people to stumbleand a rock that will make them fall, yet the one who believes in him will not be put to shame.” (NET)

[12] Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires, [13] and do not present your members to sin as instruments to be used for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments to be used for righteousness. [14] For sin will have no mastery over you, because you are not under law but under grace. (NET)

Deuteronomy 32:4, 15, 18

[4] As for the Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are just.He is a reliable God who is never unjust,he is fair and upright.

[15] But Jeshurun became fat and kicked;you got fat, thick, and stuffed! Then he deserted the God who made him,and treated the Rock who saved him with contempt.

[18] You forgot the Rock who fathered you,and put out of mind the God who gave you birth. (NET)

Third Day

Read Romans 10:1-4

Romans 10:1-4

[1] Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God on behalf of my fellow Israelites is for their salvation. [2] For I can testify that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not in line with the truth. [3] For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. [4] For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes. (NET)

Question 7a

Romans 3:21-23

[21] But now apart from the law the righteousness of God (although it is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed— [22] namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction, [23] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (NET)

Fourth Day

Read Romans 10:5-9

Romans 10:5-9

[5] For Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law: “The one who does these things will live by them.” [6] But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) [7] or “Who will descend into the abyss?” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). [8] But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we preach), [9] because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (NET)

Fifth Day

Read Romans 10:10-13

Romans 10:10-13

[10] For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation. [11] For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” [12] For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, who richly blesses all who call on him. [13] For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (NET)
