First Day
Read the Lesson 1 Notes
Second Day
Read Romans 1:18-20
Romans 1:18-20
[18] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth by their unrighteousness, [19] because what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. [20] For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse. (NET)
Question 5b
Matthew 5:14-16
[14] You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden. [15] People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. [16] In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven. (NET)
John 1:4-9
[4] In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. [5] And the light shines on in the darkness, but the darkness has not mastered it.
[6] A man came, sent from God, whose name was John. [7] He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that everyone might believe through him. [8] He himself was not the light, but he came to testify about the light. [9] The true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. (NET)
John 8:12
[12] Then Jesus spoke out again, “I am the light of the world! The one who follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (NET)
2 Timothy 3:16
[16] Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, (NET)
Third Day
Read Romans 1:21-23
Romans 1:21-23
[21] For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts, and their senseless hearts were darkened. [22] Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools [23] and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles. (NET)
Question 7
Romans 1:25
[25] They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. (NET)
Fourth Day
Read Romans 1:24-28
Romans 1:24-28
[24] Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor their bodies among themselves. [25] They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
[26] For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged the natural sexual relations for unnatural ones, [27] and likewise the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed in their passions for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
[28] And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done. (NET)
Question 10a
Genesis 1:26-27
[26] Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth.”
[27] God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them. (NET)
Genesis 2:24-25
[24] That is why a man leaves his father and mother and unites with his wife, and they become one family. [25] The man and his wife were both naked, but they were not ashamed. (NET)
Isaiah 50:1
[1] This is what the Lord says:“Where is your mother’s divorce certificateby which I divorced her?Or to which of my creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold because of your sins; because of your rebellious acts I divorced your mother. (NET)
Jeremiah 3:1, 8
[1] “If a man divorces his wifeand she leaves him and becomes another man’s wife,he may not take her back again. Doing that would utterly defile the land. But you, Israel, have given yourself as a prostitute to many gods. So what makes you think you can return to me?” says the Lord. [8] She also saw that, because of wayward Israel’s adulterous worship of other gods, I sent her away and gave her divorce papers. But still her unfaithful sister Judah was not afraid, and she too went and gave herself like a prostitute to other gods. (NET)
1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 18-20
[9] Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals, [10] thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God. [11] Some of you once lived this way. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. [18] Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin a person commits is outside of the body”—but the immoral person sins against his own body. [19] Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? [20] For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body. (NET)
Ephesians 5:31-32
[31] For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. [32] This mystery is great—but I am actually speaking with reference to Christ and the church. (NET)
Fifth Day
Read Romans 1:28-32
Romans 1:28-32
[28] And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done. [29] They are filled with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice. They are rife with envy, murder, strife, deceit, hostility. They are gossips, [30] slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, contrivers of all sorts of evil, disobedient to parents, [31] senseless, covenant-breakers, heartless, ruthless. [32] Although they fully know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them. (NET)
